İrem Korkmaz, Bachelor 2018, Finance Analyst - Amazon
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the Turkish-German University in 2018, I completed my legal internship in a large law firm specializing in maritime and transportation law. In this process, I started to find aviation law interesting and then I completed a master's program on Aviation law at Capitole 1 University of Toulouse, France. The year I graduated was at the height of the pandemic and it was very difficult to find a job in the aviation industry. I was fortunate to work as a German-Turkish translator in Amazon, Bratislava Slovakia, as I learned German at our university and gained a lot of experience abroad with summer schools thanks to our university. Subsequently, I changed the department within Amazon and now I am working as Senior Finance Analyst at Amazon Web Services Bratislava, Slovakia office. Although I work in a different field, I have to use the analytical intelligence provided by my legal education in my work every day. I feel privileged in my group thanks to the discipline, determination to work and international visibility that our university offers us. As one of the first TGU students to enter university in 2013, I have always felt that it is a privilege to be a part of the TGU and that our university provides international opportunities at every stage of my life. For this reason, I am currently a student enrolled in the private law post-graduate department of our university. It's always special to be a member of TGU.
