Legal Clinic

The Law Faculty’s Legal Clinic started its activities in the academic year 2019/2020. The Legal Clinic is a new method to complement traditional legal education. The aim is to provide students with knowledge of real cases in selected areas of law. This gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience during their studies and to apply their theoretical knowledge under expert guidance. As part of an interactive approach, games such as 'Bingo of Rights', 'Alien Invasion' and 'Money to Spend' are conducted. In the group discussions that follow, students are able to analyze concrete cases. Students learn the methods of determining facts, identifying problems and discussing alternative solutions. Students gain the ability to write legal correspondence as well as to solve legal problems by using the FPARA formula (Fact-Problem-Law Rules-Apply-Result). At the end of the year, students will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in a practical setup. For example, in the past, students of the Legal Clinic gave lectures on human rights, social rights and refugee rights to students of various high schools in Beykoz district, including Ferit İnal Anatolian High School.
