Constitutional Law History Series I: Turning Points of European Constitutionalism

The conference entitled “Turning Points of European Constitutionalism,” the first event organized within the Constitutional Law History Series by the Faculty of Law of the Turkish-German University, has been successfully held.
Moderated by Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Yıldız, Assoc. Prof. Berke Özenç, in his presentation entitled “The Evolution of Constitutionalism and the Rule of Law,” addressed the historical development of constitutionalism and the institutionalization of the rule of law. Assist. Prof. Eyüp Kaan Demirkıran, in his presentation “The Development and Impact of 19th-Century European Constitutionalism,” evaluated the political and institutional effects of nineteenth-century constitutional movements. Assist. Prof. Ömer Emrullah Egeliği, in his presentation “The Legacy of Constitutionalism and the Case of the Federal Republic of Germany,” examined the reflections of constitutional heritage on the contemporary constitutional order through the example of Germany.
